Written by Polly Wong, 2010 6.0 mixed doubles team cptain

Our 6.0 team brought back a nice looking, 4th place trophy

from the USTA 6.0 mixed doubles National Championships

We won our flight without losing any courts, nor dropping any sets.

First with Bin & Yunjian as our strongest pair, we beat Maryland.

Next we beat Kansas, who came in 2nd behind us in the flight.

Then we had no problem beating the local Arizona team.

In the Semi-Final up in the mountains at the Hilton resort against

Hawaii's very strong team, we tried our best.  Danny & Arlene

won their match in two sets 6-4, 7-6.  Bin & Yunjian played a tie-breaker

in the first set.  The weather was even windier than the day before

and bitterly cold.

Then playing for 3rd place, the team faced another very strong team

Pacific Northwest.  Notably, Yvonne & James split sets and played

a 3rd set tie-breaker.

I'm so glad I went to Tucson with the team.  Outside of just being

teammates, we got to know each other better.

It was great how everyone helped each other out in a united effort.

It was my pleasure to serve as Captain.

This was very good nationals tennis experience for the team.

Thanks for all the laughs and fun!
